What is your personal relationship to or connection with mindfulness?
I have been trained in mindfulness-based approaches and practice mindfulness informally in my day to day life, as well as formally through a regular yoga practice (3 times 75min. per week).
What is your professional work? As this is a mindfulness-based professional's network we require each member to disclose his or her profession (i.e. teacher, psychotherapist, MD, lawyer, etc.)
Registered Psychologist with the College of Psychologists of Ontario (#6475) working in private practice (drmarieevemartel.ca), researcher on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and part-time professor at the University of Ottawa.
Using mindfulness-based techniques in professional work
I have been trained in acceptance and mindfulness-based approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). I use these approaches in my work in private practice and teach about these approaches in my Master's level courses at the University of Ottawa. I also do research on ACT for chronic pain.
