Learn mindfulness to help manage stress and increase your effectiveness in ethical practices in law. Arguably, we need some stress in order to motivate. However, stress also can shut down our nervous system such that we are not accessing our best qualities or highest cognitive functioning in order to problem solve and work effectively.
This course will teach participants:
David Jewitt, LLB, Partner, Jewitt Mcluckie & Associates LLP
After ten years of practice at the general law firm of Nelligan Power, David established his own law firm in 1991 specializing in labour and employment law and human rights on behalf of employees and unions. David has extensive familiarity in labour relations in the municipal sector, federal public service sector and hospital sector. He has worked in the construction industry sector and represented trade unions in both the industrial and manufacturing sectors. David can be found on the Best Lawyers in Canada list for his expertise in the practice area of Labour and Employment Law. David believes firmly in access to justice and the court system for those who are not always able to pay for expensive legal services. He has instilled in the firm a strong social conscience by providing guidance and advice in support of those with disabilities or those who have just lost their job at the most cost effective arrangement possible. David also has a passion for yoga and meditation of all types having studied extensively with senior yoga teachers throughout North America and in India. He has visited Tibet and studied with senior Tibetan Lamas on various Tibetan meditation techniques.
