Ontario’s only MBCT practicum accredited by The College of Family Physicians of Canada. This is the fourth module of our MBCT Facilitation Certificate Program.
This practicum will immerse participants in the 8-week MBCT program as participants, facilitators and observers. Trainees will take on a variety of roles including teaching, providing and receiving feedback and developing skills of inquiry. Readings and home practice will be an essential part of the program. Relevant background will be provided in the areas of mindfulness, clinical research and CBT.
Participants Will Learn
• Ways to deliver the 8-week MBCT program in a systematic manner
• To engage in teach-backs to help hone their skills
• How to receive feedback to enhance their guidance and inquiry skills
• The underlying intentions, attitudes and attentional training skills developed in the practices/exercises
• To hold the group using the MBCT model
This program is best suited for clinicians who have experience with meditative practices and who have attended an 8-week MBCT. It is also recommended for those who have taken the MBCT Intensive Training & Retreat. Please contact us before registering if you have yet to participate in an MBCT program.
What To Expect
This training will be an intensive version of our 10-week practicum in 5 days. You can expect to be immersed in the 8-week MBCT program. The course will follow a concentrated schedule, starting at 9:00am and ending at 5:30pm each day with an hour and a half for lunch that will entail some readings and work.
