What is your personal relationship to or connection with mindfulness?
I began my mindfulness practice 2 years ago as a self-care practice during my counselling internships in my M.Ed. (Educational Counselling) program. I have noticed holistic (emotional, physical, spiritual, and mental) health benefits in myself since then which motivate to continue practicing. This also motivates me to share the gift of mindfulness in my professional work.
What is your professional work? As this is a mindfulness-based professional's network we require each member to disclose his or her profession (i.e. teacher, psychotherapist, MD, lawyer, etc.)
- M.Ed. (Educational Counselling), Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC)

Using mindfulness-based techniques in professional work
I have used mindfulness-based techniques with clients in my counselling practice and I find them to be helpful and effective (i.e. guided meditations in session and exercises from the MBSR workbook). Some health benefits I have observed are improved awareness of bodily sensations and emotions, enhanced ability to regulate intense emotions, reduced stress and anxiety levels, and greater fulfillment in life.
