What is your personal relationship to or connection with mindfulness?
I am interested in mindful self compassion, and try to apply this way of being in my own inner dialogue as well as in parenting. I believe compassion connects us to ourselves and to others in profound and meaningful ways. I enjoy reading and learning about this topic and always find something new to practice.
What is your professional work? As this is a mindfulness-based professional's network we require each member to disclose his or her profession (i.e. teacher, psychotherapist, MD, lawyer, etc.)
Employee Assistance Program Counsellor within the government. I also do team interventions and develop wellness related workshops.
Using mindfulness-based techniques in professional work
I recently facilitated a workshop called Discover the Body Mind Connection where I introduced some Mindfulness practices in the workplace. I facilitate weekly guided meditations for employees, now virtually due to most employees are working from home. I also introduce mindfulness and self compassion theory and practice to clients in individual counselling sessions.
