What is your personal relationship to or connection with mindfulness?
I have been trained in Transformative Mindfulness and the 16 Guidelines, both of which have changed my life since 2007.
I began formal meditation through the Shambala Practices in Ottawa and Karme Choling in Vermont. Since 2004 I have practiced and gone done retreats in the Mahayana traditions and Shambala tradition.
As a national team athlete in Biathlon and Ultimate Frisbee, the synchronization of body and mind as well as visualization have been honed since the age of 12. I have also had a yoga practice since 1998, mostly focused on Ashtanga Yoga and the 5 Tibetan Yogas.
The "type" of mindfulness I use in my therapeutic work as well as teach to educators and therapist combines mindfulness modalities that are primarily focused in the body (Transformative Mindfulness) and in the world (16 Guidelines).
What is your professional work? As this is a mindfulness-based professional's network we require each member to disclose his or her profession (i.e. teacher, psychotherapist, MD, lawyer, etc.)
