What is your personal relationship to or connection with mindfulness?
I try to practice mindfulness on a daily basis. I have completed the 8 week MBSR training program that was offered here at The Royal - taught by Dr. Kim Sogge.
What is your professional work? As this is a mindfulness-based professional's network we require each member to disclose his or her profession (i.e. teacher, psychotherapist, MD, lawyer, etc.)
I am a medical librarian working at The Royal, and assist many staff and researchers here with their work. This includes research on mindfulness practices as it relates to mental health, and CBT. I also co-lead a lunchtime mindfulness program for staff, which usually runs for 6 weeks.
Using mindfulness-based techniques in professional work
I currently assist with some lunch-hour mindfulness meditation offerings here, and personally take part in mindful yoga, and Buddhist meditation once per week.
