What is your personal relationship to or connection with mindfulness?
I've been practicing yoga and meditation for some time now and being mindful helps me figure out the reality of what sanity means for me today.
What is your professional work? As this is a mindfulness-based professional's network we require each member to disclose his or her profession (i.e. teacher, psychotherapist, MD, lawyer, etc.)
I am a therapist with the Centre for Treatment of Sexual Abuse and Childhood Trauma and a supervisor for students in the Counselling and Psychotherapy program at St.Paul's University. Previously I spent over a decade in the Mental Health and Addictions field on the front lines.
Using mindfulness-based techniques in professional work
I use MBSR MBCT techniques, meditations, and guided imagery in my work and will be running a Mindfulness Based Relapse Prevention group in the fall 2016.
