For the first time in Ottawa, this retreat is being offered! Once a practice of mindfulness begins to slow down and stabilize the mind a lot can come up. Awareness of the external environment and the internal world within increases – therein lies an opportunity to address the root causes of suffering and a possible choice to enhancing positive qualities. Using an open, curious and compassionate stance, we being to notice thoughts, feelings and emotions related to suffering. At this point, with guidance, and through the techniques of Transformative Mindfulness Methods we can begin to reclaim the power of the mind and body to heal ourselves.

The weekend activities:

Exploring Challenges – turn towards where suffering is held in the body with compassion.

Intuitive Body-Scan explore the mind-body relationship through mindful visualization.

Transforming Challenges – learn to ask for help to transform the many aspects of suffering.

Enhancing Positive Qualities – build your strengths and resilience from within.

Transforming Inner Conflict – explore two, or more, opposing elements that are in conflict.

If you have practiced mindfulness, or simply have a deep wish to change how you relate to wellbeing and suffering, this group will help to build tools that you can use throughout your life. This retreat is specifically useful for:

  • Introducing visualization more into your mindfulness practice
  • Deepening your intuition and body awareness
  • Addressing challenges due to chronic pain, brain injury, or illness
  • Changing one’s relationship to suffering
  • Enhancing positive attributes for wellbeing
